Clubs

Clubs in the Network

Clubs eligible for inclusion in the Network need to meet three criteria :-
They must be
Sussex based, affiliated to England Athletics and affiliated to Sussex County AA. All such clubs will be automatically included in the Network and will receive information and invitations to Network events and initiatives via club secretaries.

Visit the List of Clubs page for the full list with links to websites and contact information.

Track and Field

The Network has been instrumental in piloting and introducing Athletics 365 to its clubs, and will continue to work with clubs to get the most out of this programme.

Workshops and master classes are put on for coaches, and clubs encouraged to recruit more coaches, officials and volunteers.

Development days are held throughout the winter months for selected athletes and any coaches wishing to attend.

Road Running / Cross Country

The Network helps to promote endurance running within the county in order to encourage increased participation levels.

By encouraging collaboration between clubs, and providing networking opportunities, each should benefit from the sharing of expertise and resources.

Endurance development days will provide the opportunity for endurance coaches to come together and learn from some of the county’s top coaches.

Sussex County AA

The Sussex County AA organises a full calendar of Athletics Championships and League matches for the Summer and Winter seasons with Track & Field, Cross Country and Road Running fixtures for all age groups. The website contains up-to-date news of all athletics competitions within the county, a fixtures list for forthcoming events with entry forms, and published results.  Visit www.sussexathletics.org.uk for more information

Clubmark

Clubmark is a cross-sport quality accreditation for sports clubs operated by England Athletics. We will work with all clubs to achieve Clubmark status. This will ensure that clubs have all the correct procedures and best practices in place, making the club safe and compliant. Once the club receives accreditation, Local Authorities may be approached for support with funding, activities and advertising.

Four Sussex clubs have current Clubmark status : Haywards Heath Harriers, Crowborough Runners, Lewes AC and Eastbourne Rovers.
Three are in the process of re-accreditation : Horsham Blue Stars, Worthing Harriers and Steyning AC.

A further three are working towards accreditation for the first time : Chichester, Burgess Hill and Hastings AC.

Contact Elspeth Turner for more information – eturner@englandathletics.org .
